The Ed Rosenthal (aka Guru of Ganga) case just took a surprising and wonderful turn, as the same federal judge who kept so much information from being presented during trial, sentenced Rosenthal to just one day in prison, which he had already served... instead of the 6 1/2 years the prosecutor wanted, or the up to 60 years he could have meted out.

This is the case in which jury members, after their guilty verdict, and after they found out what they hadn't been allowed to hear, were furious.

This judge's decision could be the beginning of the end to the federal War on Drugs!

  Organ transplants are certainly one of the modern marvels of science, often turning certain death into a chance for life. Yet, last year 6,000 Americans died while waiting for a transplant, and the waiting list is growing 5 times as fast as the rate of organ donation.

Why are there so many more waiting for transplants than there are donors? Odds are better than even that you're not a donor, even though it's free and easy, and it would help others after you're beyond help.

Might it make some sense to give donors preferred access to donations if they need one? Might that give people a real incentive to become donors? (DUH)
